The following table lists the ordnance codes found in Mauser Bolt Rifles by L. While formally disbanded in 1921, most members joined other organizations, post prominently Bund Bayern und Reich (Bavaria and Empire League) which would eventually be absorbed by Stahlhelm and then merged with the Nazi Party. German WW2-era military rifles usually have markings on the receiver, barrel, rear sight, and stock, from which one can get some information about the history of the piece. Among its more prominent members was Ernst Rohm, future chief of the Nazi Stormtroopers. Primarily formed from 'freikorps' militias in the aftermath of WWI, the collapse of the monarchy and the resulting domestic chaos, the Einwohnerwehr was pro-monarchy, anti-Semitic, and violently anti-communist, and operated both independently and with the tacit approval of the Bavarian government. The left side of the buttstock is branded "VII/12", and the right side "EWB" while not documented, "EWB" marked weapons have been associated with the Einwohnerwehr ("Citizens' Defense") of Bavaria. Smooth pistol grip stock, with a matching serial number on the underside, "crown/Gothic letter" proofs and a smooth flat buttplate. Blade front and tangent rear sights, with the 1917 date and arsenal markings on top of the chamber.
